Most people develop a third set of molars at the back of their mouth when they are in their teenage years. These teeth, known as the wisdom teeth, can lead to significant problems if there is not enough room in the mouth to accommodate them. Many patients choose to have them extracted as a precautionary measure, while others do so out of current necessity. Our expert team can gently remove the wisdom teeth in order to stop them from damaging your oral health.
After we make sure you are comfortable, we will access the teeth. If they are impacted (stuck beneath the gum line), we may have to make an incision in the gums. It is also possible that we will need to break the teeth into pieces in order to remove them. Following the procedure, we advise you to rest for a few days. Most patients are able to resume their usual routine within a week or so.
